We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in behavioral neuroscience, and psychopharmacology in rodents.
Expertise in experimental paradigms for investigating cognitive functions in rodents (instrumental learning and decision making) as well as proficiency in in-vivo pharmacology and brain stereotaxic surgeries are important prerequisites. Previous experience in in-vivo optogenetics will be a plus.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neuropharmacology, or Experimental Psychology and have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. We are hiring at the level of Researcher/Senior postdoctoral position (ranking upon experience).
The main aim will be to investigate the role of neuromodulatory pathways at defined neuronal circuits in shaping decision-making processes (e.g. learning of goal-directed actions, their flexible use and how they become habitual) and social behavior in the adult brain and during developmental periods of brain circuit refinement (adolescence).
The project will be part of an integrative framework, taking advantage of complementary neurophysiological expertises available in the research group of “Neuromodulation of Cortical and Subcortical Circuits” at the IIT-Neuroscience and Brain Technology Department (NBT) (for reference see Nazzaro et al., Nature Neuroscience, 2012; Trusel, Cavaccini et al., Cell Reports, 2015)
Applications, including detailed curriculum vitae, 2 representative publications and a brief research statement should be submitted in PDF format to
